The New Generation of Performance Athletics

Wrestling is now the benchmark for physical performance.  No other sport is as focused on helping athletes perform at their peek performance.  Find out how and why!

The NFHS Wrestling Weight Management Program is designed to help wrestlers maximize their performance through the use of "proven" sport science/nutrition practices.

Over the past six years, amateur wrestling has emerged as a leader in promoting fitness.

More recently (in 2005), the United States Department of Agriculture agreed to use amateur wrestling as a centerpiece in their national “Eat Smart, Play Hard” campaign aimed at curbing childhood obesity.

What other sport can provide empirical data to support the notion that its athletes are well hydrated and for the most part, are within an ideal body fat range?”

  • New to wrestling this year is the incorporation of Body Mass Compositioning.  Wrestlers can no longer shed quick pound to gain advantage (though some teams may still try).  Our goal is to maximize physical strength and explosiveness by developing as much bulk fast twitch muscle as possible, monitoring water weight and reducing bodyfat to 7 ~ 15 percent.  Every wrestler's BMC will be assessed, tracked and evaluated on a weekly basis.  We will be adding power lifting 2 ~ 3 times a week.  I encourage our athletes to put an as much muscle as safely possible.  We will be using drilling techniques to promote increased reflexes and explosiveness.  Wrestlers will participate in nutrition and anatomy physiology education as it pertains to building superior ripped athletes!     Every athlete need to just four or five moves that can excecute at will on any opponent.  We will provide many different techniques for our athletes to choose from during summer camps and regular season practices.  Strength is no substitue for leverage.  The amount of technique taught will largely depend on the learning rate of our team.  Our returning wrestlers are every advanced for thier age and level, and we have a large population of quality athletes that will have little trouble picking it up.
